As the essence of the Ming Great Wall, Badaling Great Wall was inscribed on the World Heritage List in 1987 and is a "state-guest level" scenic spot that has received over 500 state leaders. The city walls here wind along the mountain ridges, with North Tower 8 being the highest watchtower; climbing to its summit allows one to overlook the magnificent panorama of the Yanshan Mountains, and the "Hero Monument" is an iconic must-clock-in location.
